Recipes for the Heart and Soul

An inspirational blog of cathcath. I used to have Sunday reflections in my Now What, Cat ? featuring stories, poems and quotations. Then, they seemed to be out of place for a humor-themed weblog. Recipes for the Heart and Soul is a repository of inspirational thoughts sent to me by my friends which I would like share with the readers. The photos were mostly sent by friends. Some were free photos from Clipart Classroom. Most inspirational poems were excerpts from poems published in Salesian Inspirational Books.

    Master of Emotions

    How do I change?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
If I feel depressed I will sing.

If I feel sad I will laugh.

If I feel ill I will double my labour.

If I feel fear I will plunge ahead.

If I feel inferior I will wear new garments.

If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice.

If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come.

If I feel incompetent I will think of past success.

If I feel insignificant I will remember my goals.

Today I will be the master of my emotions.

    -Og Mandino

I believe that I have never changed much since I was a child
when it comes to emotions department.

As I have been telling my mom, when I felt very low, I
imagined that I am rich, a princess, a queen, so much fantasy.

These days when I am under stress, emotionally charged,
I go to beauty parlor and have a hair cut. I go to the mall
and admire beautiful things. I avoid staying home in a room.
When I am sad and feel very
lonely, I think of the widows and the orphans.

When there are people who like to make me feel miserable,
by ridiculing me, I pray for them.
