An inspirational blog of cathcath. I used to have Sunday reflections in my Now What, Cat ? featuring stories, poems and quotations. Then, they seemed to be out of place for a humor-themed weblog. Recipes for the Heart and Soul is a repository of inspirational thoughts sent to me by my friends which I would like share with the readers. The photos were mostly sent by friends. Some were free photos from Clipart Classroom. Most inspirational poems were excerpts from poems published in Salesian Inspirational Books.

    The Bridge of Life

That afternoon, I was reading a book while my TV is on. Then I heard my favorite song. I looked up and I saw the victims of the hurricanes Katrina and Rita receiving assistance from the American Red Cross people while the song BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER was being played in the background. The ARC is the bridge but the bridge will not be there without the people contributing to its mission. So many have exploited these tragedies that the FBI had to issue a warning for hurricane Katrina Relief Scams. So this is the song of Simon and Garfunkel.

    Bridge Over Troubled Water
    When you’re weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes,
    I will dry them all;
    I’m on your side.
    when times get rough
And friends just can’t be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
    I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
    I will lay me down.

    When you’re down and out,
    When you’re on the street,
    When evening falls so hard
    I will comfort you.
    I’ll take your part.
    When darkness comes
    And pain is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water
    I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
    I will lay me down.
    Sail on silvergirl,
    Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
    See how they shine.

If you need a friend I’m sailing right behind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
    I will ease your mind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
    I will ease your mind.
Come to think of it, why that song is dear to my heart. I remember, dad, putting me on his shoulder while crossing a wooden bridge during a tempest. In your life, was there also one that you can call your bridge?
