Recipes for the Heart and Soul

An inspirational blog of cathcath. I used to have Sunday reflections in my Now What, Cat ? featuring stories, poems and quotations. Then, they seemed to be out of place for a humor-themed weblog. Recipes for the Heart and Soul is a repository of inspirational thoughts sent to me by my friends which I would like share with the readers. The photos were mostly sent by friends. Some were free photos from Clipart Classroom. Most inspirational poems were excerpts from poems published in Salesian Inspirational Books.

    FORGIVENESS

Every person should have a special cemetery lot in which to bury the faults of friends and loved ones.

    cathcath.com

This is a story about the woman claiming that she can talk to GOD. To test her, the minister who have been suffering from remorse due to a sin committed for which he believed is impossible for God to forgive, asked the woman to ask God what was his sin long time ago.

When they met again, the minister asked her God's answer. The woman said that God forgot what the sin was since the time that he sincerely asked for forgiveness.

It just shows that GOD forgives but not the man, not even himself.

    A MOTHER'S LOVE

    photo from Smithsonian

    A Mother's love is something
    that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
    and of sacrifice and pain,
    It is endless and unselfish
    and enduring come what may
    For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
    It is patient and forgiving
    when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
    It believes beyond believing
    when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
    It is far beyond defining,
    it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
    A many splendoured miracle
    man cannot understand
    And another wondrous evidence
    of God's tender guiding hand.

    There should be a time

    stress reliever

    photo from classroomclipart.

It seems like there should be a time,
Life slows down and stresses decline,
And yet each day is one more test
For us to strive to do our best.

And run they do without a doubt...
Not letting stress and turmoil out.
But in the test an unknown part
That some call wisdom...some call heart.

    Love and Care

    bridge uploaded by cathcath

The greatest thrills of life and love,
    that fill us with content
are gifts of grace we give away
    and ask no compliment
it might just be a helping hand
we give to one in need
or just a gift of caring grace-
    when nothing else succeeds.

A little bit of love and care
that comes from you and me
Can lift a heart of grief and tears
    from days of misery
    and it is heavilyh ordained
    that we -of-faith impart
that love and care God gives to us,
    To share with crying hearts.

    Walk with Faith

    tulips uploaded by cathcath

    Whatever are my fates today,
I'll walk it to its end
And I will seek and find the loves
    That hide around each bend,
For I will walk with love, in heart-
As GOD would have me do-
And He will light each fond of love,
    He fashioned, made and grew.

    Lessons of Wisdom

    sunset uploaded by cathcath

When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long. Take the reason of the thing into your mind and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.
